• Aggressive or threatening behaviour

This applies to everyone using the space, including artists, clients, staff, engineers, producers, guests, contractors and collaborators.

• Respect other people’s boundaries.
• Use people’s stated names and pronouns.
• Ask before touching another person’s equipment or belongings.
• Communicate concerns directly when it is safe to do so.
• Respect differences in experience, identity and background.
• Follow reasonable instructions from studio staff.
• Leave the space in a condition that allows the next person to use it.

Being in a collaborative creative environment does not mean that everyone has the same boundaries.

Ask before recording someone, photographing them, posting their image, touching their equipment, or involving them in activities outside the agreed-upon session.

A person’s participation in one activity does not automatically mean consent to another.

Alcohol or other substance use must never compromise the safety, comfort or consent of other people in the space.

Point Row reserves the right to end a session if someone’s behaviour creates a safety concern or prevents others from working.

If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination, intimidation or another serious concern at Point Row, you can speak with a staff member or contact us privately.

We will take concerns seriously and will make reasonable efforts to protect confidentiality.

Depending on the situation, our response may include:

• Checking in with the person affected
• Asking someone to change their behaviour
• Separating people involved in a conflict
• Ending a session
• Asking someone to leave
• Refusing future bookings
• Referring people to appropriate external resources

We recognize that not every conflict can be resolved by the studio, and we will not pretend to be experts in situations beyond our capacity.

Point Row supports challenging, experimental and politically engaged art.

Creative freedom does not extend to creating an unsafe environment for the people participating in it.

We reserve the right to refuse work or remove material when it is being used to intentionally harass, threaten, discriminate against or target people.
